We’re building skills and futures.
The Kitsap Building Association’s Builder Grant Program is targeted toward 18-24 year-olds who are not moving on to a four-year degree. The program provides opportunities in the home construction industry through six-week internships within the carpentry, electrical, plumbing, painting and coating, and HVAC fields.
Students are teamed up with a trade mentor to help shepherd them through the learning process and gain real-life experience. In addition to onsite training, they receive $500 seed money for tools and safety gear—giving them a boost if they choose to seek full-time work in the trades at the end of the program.
Of the 62 interns participating in 2023, 38 secured a job in the construction industry. Interested in enrolling? Complete and submit our application.
